Masterful Miniatures: Dvořák’s Serenade

Exquisite works, intimately performed.

Warm lyricism meets rhythmic fire in this intimate evening of string-centered brilliance.

At the heart of the program is Dvořák’s beloved Serenade for Strings, composed in 1875 and filled with the lilting rhythms, rich melodies, and sunny spirit of his Czech homeland. Sibelius’s Romance in C opens the evening with glowing Nordic warmth, followed by Mozart’s playful and elegant Piano Concerto No. 2 in G major (K.107), featuring pianist Sam Chang. The program also features Colorado native Conni Ellisor’s Tres Danzas de Vida, a vibrant set of dances bursting with color, motion, and spirit.

Graceful, joyful, and quietly electrifying—chamber music up close.
